On Masescha, in the municipality of Triesenberg, stands a chapel.
On the left side altar, inside the chapel,
a young blonde bishop is depicted next to him.
Is the devil carrying a bell that threatens to become to heavy for him
and presses down his head.
The right foot looks like a griffin's claw, the left one like a cloven hoof. According to the legend the holy Theodul,
the first bishop of Wallis, was given a bell as a present by the pope. Unable to move it by manpower, he forced the devil,
whom he had exorcised out of a possessed sinner,
to carry the present across the alps into the bishop's town.
