I am convinced
No force on earth
Can separate us
From the love of God
Angels or demons
This life or death
Won't separate us
From the love of God
(Chorus)
So high so wide so measureless
Filling eternity
So strong so deep so intimate
Encircling mystery
That nothing can take Your love from me
Violence or danger
Hunger or shame
Won't separate us
From the love of God
I am convinced
No force on earth
Can separate us
From the love of God

The Story Behind The Song
This song is built around the scriptures Romans 8:38-39 and Ephesians 3:17-19, and our conviction that the tougher things get, the more we need to be reminded of the truth that God's love is always there. When we first experimented with the words 'violence and danger,' we weren't sure the Church, at least the Church in the Western world, would be ready to sing words like that. I think the events of 9/11, and the continued violence in the Middle East have reminded us that God's love is higher, wider and deeper than anything the enemy can do!
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels or demons, neither the present or the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39 NIV
And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love which surpasses knowledge - that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Ephesians 3:17-19 NIV
