I feel like a boy staring out the window pane watching all the leaves falling in the rain everybody's happy as they blow a kiss goodbye but no one cares to notice the pain I live to hide and I've been waiting for my turn I've been waiting for mine I feel like a girl all dressed up for the dance up against the wall just waiting for her chance and finally with a slow song she walks out on the floor just then the lights come up time's her friend no more and I've been waiting for my turn I've been waiting for mine and oh every inch of my body begins to ache and all the things that haven't broken are about to break and they ask me when I think that I will throw in the towel and I tell them I think I would have done it already but I don't know how I feel like a fool when it slips right through my hands all the things they tell me just to keep me from my dance but I'll sing it loud and pretty and I'll laugh right through their lies cause at least if I die laughing I'll know at least I tried and I've been waiting for my turn I've been waiting for mine
