Behind the Song:
DAN HASELTINE: "The Long Fall Back To Earth describes that sobering moment in a relationship when you move from the euphoria of being in love to the reality of what it means to live in relationship with someone else on a day to day basis."
STEVE MASON: "The instrumental t**le cut, 'The Long Fall,' was based on a concept we had toward the end of recording the album. Dan had this piano piece -- the one you hear at the beginning of the song -- and we all just kind of added to it until it seemed to flow seamlessly into 'Weapons.'"
MATT ODMARK: "In fact, those two songs were pretty much written simultaneously -- which is unusual for us. And we loved the idea of two distinct pieces of music that connected and spoke to one another."
