As I walk in the dark, I am daunted
By the shadow of a life yet unlived
Sixteen years of school and preparation
And suddenly there seems to be no direction
And I wonder what I'll find up ahead
And I wonder if I'll be ready for it
So I stumble aimlessly in a cold world
Hoping someone will help lead the way
With no light from the moon hidden high overhead
My eyes are strained to sift through hazy shades of gray
But I can almost see something up ahead
And I think that I'll will be ready for it
In a blinding flash, my eyesight left, and I was greeted with a still, small voice
It beckoned me forth, and I started with new purpose inside
And an idea formed in fore of my mind, that the darkness and the lulls I face
Mingled with inspired bursts of light form the fullest picture of this journey and place
And as the vision faded and the light retreated, I'm left with an unfinished picture
And I don't think I'll ever be ready for it
