This instrumental track was inspired by the line from verse 3 of the hymn 'Be Thou my Vision' - 'O raise thou me heavenward, great Power of my power' and a passage from David Adam's book 'Eye of the Eagle'.
With this track, Dave wanted to capture the feeling of yearning, of trying to do something that alone it is impossible to achieve. For that reason the structure of the piece was initially kept loose - the idea being to capture a performance rather than having everything too worked out. After Dave had improvised a keyboard part, Troy did about ten takes - himself improvising over the top of the keyboard part on an 'A' low whistle until a melody had developed which we felt captured the right feeling.
