Oh, I'm Mary Ann McGuire; from Killarney town I came.
My Barney left me with my son for to go across the sea.
A pig from out my piggery this morning stole away
And he sold it down in Bantry town and went off to Americay.
OH, when I get hold of Barney, Barney from Killarney,
I'll give him a touch of the Blarney, for on him I have no luck.
Well he went away this morning; 'twas as the day was dawning.
ALL he left to comfort me was a clucking hen and duck.
Oh, last night as I laid sleeping, sure I had a lovely dream.
My Barney sat beside me with a bottle of old poteen,
And as he handed me a drop, his old pipe he did smoke.
When I reached out my hand for it and searched to him I woke.
OH, when I get hold of Barney, Barney from Killarney,
I'll give him a touch of the Blarney, for on him I have no luck.
