David Lloyd:
On Dec. 7th, 1941, the Imperial Japanese navy attacked Pearl Harbour with only 31 ships and 353 raiding aircraft. In less than two hours the Japanese had sunk or put out of commisssion 18 US ships including the great battleships Arizona and Oklahoma, destroyed 188 American planes and damaged 159 others.
Danielle Deneuve:
They were warriors of the sun - everyone
In their eyes you see the light, you see the longing
They were made of steel and bone everywhere
In their stare you see the pain - you see it growing
Oh - is hope for peace a simple minded dream?
Will we ever cease to hear the wounded scream?
Now the battle has begun - everyone
Silent scream - some will bleed - the weak are dying
Praise the spirit of the strong everywhere
See them rise - and see them turn to face the shining
Oh - is hope for peace a simple minded dream?
Will we ever cease to hear the wounded scream?
It could be so nice if we loved one another
It could be so nice if we'd keep it forever
It could be right just to hold you tonight
Oh - déjà vu and dawn breaking through
It could be so nice if we loved one another
It could be so nice if we'd keep it forever
It could be right just to hold you tonight
David Lloyd
If you're a sailor named Tonnish at a place called Pearl Harbour, you and 2116 of your buddies will be dead when day is done
President F. D. Roosevelt declares war on Japan
Yesterday, Dec. 7th, 1941 - a date which will live in infamy, the USA was suddenly and deliberately attacked ... with confidence in our armed forces, with the unbounding determination of our people, we will gain the inevitable triumph - so help us God ...
David Lloyd
On August 6th, 1945, the bomb went away at 9:15
Danielle Deneuve
Now the days of glory done - everyone
Ancient bones tell a story as they're lying
In the corners where we sleep everywhere
Shadows weep for the memories they are crying
Oh - is hope for peace a simple minded dream?
Will we ever cease to hear the wounded scream?
It could be so nice if we loved one another
It could be so nice if we'd keep it forever
It could be right just to hold you tonight
Oh - déjà vu and dawn breaking through
It could be so nice if we loved one another
It could be so nice if we'd keep it forever
It could be right just to hold you tonight
Oh - déjà vu and dawn breaking through
It could be so nice if we loved one another
It could be so nice if we'd keep it forever
It could be right just to hold you tonight
(The Atom Bomb detonates)
David Lloyd
"My God" was the only entry in the co-pilot's diary. 78,150 people died at Hiroshima
President H. Truman speaks:
The world will note that the first atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima. We shall continue to use it until we completely destroy Japan's power to make war
David Lloyd
I am sure that on doomsday, in the last millisecond, the last man on Earth will see what we have just seen ...
