MODERN MONK
Verse 1:
I´m like a Modern Monk,
I´m alway running from love,
Towards something ill defined,
I took a jump -
And they layed me on a stretcher,
Over the modern city,
Where I´m in pain and I´m alien in my skin
And I can see the vermillion colours,
Over Ostbanhoff station,
Stretching out a familiar sigh over history, my friend.
Verse 2:
I´m like a Modern Monk,
Captive in my own bodies cells,
How can I repeat what I have seen -
I´m in a dream,
But it feels like its a nightmare
Trying to face the future,
I´m a man -
It feels like I´m a child
And I can´t walk these streets now,
Without feeling like i´m scurring like a mouse,
Over and over the feeling grows till I get home my friend
Middle:
History may rise and history may fall,
Silent are the wars locked within the skull,
Divided to the core, conflicted in the self
Trying to arrange the cards with which we are dealt
Interlock horns and hold the demons gaze
If the factions grow try not to turn away my friend
Verse 3:
We´re all just Modern Monks
Wreckless and back to front
Through the prism of this life I fall,
In nothingness,
I find that I feel blessed,
Trying still to make sense,
False dialogues,
Intersect the hush,
Autumn shades look regal -
Yet the colours of man so fleeting
Joyfully I accept the whole world into my arm tonight
Cause after all -We´re all just Modern Monks
And after all -
I´m just a Modern Monk.
